It looks elegant and different from others. Having a proper symmetry is very essential in traditional interiors because if there is no symmetry it can completely ruin the place. Traditional interiors are usually done in houses, restaurants and hotels. It is very different from the modern interior, be it color, material, the kind of furniture or fabric. So the experts at Lakdi knows exactly how it should be. Following are some basics that should be kept in mind before doing traditional interior:

Fabric:

Often fabrics come in solid colors, but there is also a wide variety of patterns like paisleys, damasks or florals. These can be used on expensive materials like cashmere, velvet or silk. Most of the designers these days prefer this material. But in order to make it durable one can use fabrics like cotton or linen which are easy to maintain as well.

Furniture:

Giving a dark color does not make a furniture traditional. There are specific styles if traditional furniture including Queen Anne, Sheraton and Chippendale. Queen Anne style includes curved lines, decorative finials, violin shaped chair backs and cabriole legs, whereas Sheraton consists of legs that are straight combined with inlays. Finally Chippendale is similar to Queen Anne, it has more straight lines.

Wood:

Rich tones are another element of traditional furniture. Dark woods like mahogany, maple and cherry are used with engravings on them to give it an elegant and luxurious look. Tile and carpet is used for flooring, but wooden floor is considered better than that.

Walls:

Usually neutral colors are used to paint the walls so that the furnishing is elaborated. Most of the furniture in such room should be shades brown, blue or red so that there is symmetry. Ancient pieces and other artwork should also be included on the walls to give it a more traditional look.

Accents:

Architectural pieces have a major role to play in the traditional interiors. This includes beveled wood paneling, wood floor patterns, intricate tile and elaborate moldings.
